🔒 Why do I have to pay through MyPetFriends?

All bookings and payments on MyPetFriends must happen through the platform. This ensures funds are secured in escrow, services are verified, and both pet owners and sitters are protected.

When you pay through the platform:

  • Your funds are held securely in escrow
  • The service is tracked from start to completion
  • Both parties are protected if something goes wrong
  • Reviews are linked to verified, completed bookings

If payment happens off-platform (cash, EFT, direct transfer, etc.), those protections fall away. We’re unable to verify the service, support disputes properly, or ensure fair review integrity.

Keeping payments on-platform also ensures:

  • Sitters know funds are secured before the service starts
  • Pet owners only release payment once the service is complete
  • Reviews reflect real, paid bookings

Paying outside of MyPetFriends goes against our community guidelines and may result in account suspension.
