Trust your instincts
Feeling uncomfortable is reason enough to take action. This might include:
- Communication that feels inappropriate or uncomfortable
- Boundaries not being respected
- Behaviour that feels aggressive, unpredictable, or unsafe
- Communication stopping completely
- Anything that just doesn’t feel right
You don’t need to justify or explain your feelings – trusting your instincts is important.
If it feels uncomfortable but safe
If the situation feels uncomfortable but you still feel safe, you can choose to:
- Address it directly with the pet owner
- Clarify boundaries or expectations
- Pause and reassess if things improve
Many issues are misunderstandings, and clear communication can sometimes resolve things quickly. There’s no obligation to do this if you’re not comfortable.
If it feels unsafe
If something feels unsafe, inappropriate, or crosses a line:
- Stop engaging immediately
- Prioritise your personal safety
- Contact MyPetFriends as soon as possible
You’re never expected to push through a situation that doesn’t feel right.
