If something doesn’t seem right
If a pet becomes sick or injured while in a sitter’s care, sitters are expected to contact the pet owner as soon as possible. Wherever possible, the pet owner remains the decision-maker.
In an emergency
If a situation is urgent and waiting could put a pet at risk, sitters may seek immediate veterinary care, and will notify the pet owner as soon as they can. Sitters should use the vet details provided by the pet owner, where available.
Vet visits and costs
Any veterinary costs remain the responsibility of the pet owner, just as they would if you were caring for your pet yourself. We recommend sharing your preferred vet, emergency contact details, and pet insurance information during booking to help things go smoothly if care is needed.
Our role
MyPetFriends doesn’t provide medical advice or cover veterinary costs. We’re here to support communication, provide clarity, and help both sides navigate the situation calmly and fairly.
